FXCM Review

Forex Capital Markets – FXCM (www.fxcm.com)

About the Company
FXCM, one of the largest and most financially powerful forex brokers in the world, provides No Dealing Desk trading execution to over 100,000 live accounts trading through its multiple platforms* -- including MetaTrader 4. With No Dealing Desk execution, FXCM eliminates any conflict of interest between broker and trader, and ensures that there is no dealer intervention in trades, thus differentiating itself from other MetaTrader brokers. Each of its clients’ trades is executed back to back with one of the world's leading banks or financial institutions as they compete to stream their best bid and ask prices, with spreads as low as 1 pip, to FXCM.

The FXCM Group has over US$95,000,000 in firm capital, and as of January 2008, there was in excess of $700 million in customer funds trading on its platforms. These platforms execute an average of 4,000,000 trades each month for clients in nearly 200 countries around the world. With trading volume of $350 billion monthly, FXCM may be the largest single source of retail currency trades in the world. Its trading platforms have been tested in all market conditions, and routinely handle about 200,000 trades per day, averaging 2,900,000 orders each month.

Education is another major area of emphasis at FXCM. Over the years, the FXCM Education Department has developed several beginner- to expert-level currency trading courses, and enrolls almost a thousand new traders each month. FXCM recently added 15 free instructional videos to its Web site; they attracted over a quarter-million views in their first six months.

Forex News DailyFX.com, FXCM’s free news website, is one of the world’s leading news and information sources for the currency trading community. With a wide international audience, it attracts over 4 million page views a month. DailyFX analysts produce 10 to 20 articles and reports every day on the latest changes in the currency market, providing timely technical analyses and a close examination of promising chart formations. DailyFX.com also predicts likely market moves, explaining economic, political, and technical factors driving the market.
Other Special Features:

  • Economic Calendar: a complete release schedule of news events coming out of the G-10 countries, with sort and filter capabilities to rank each by their importance and impact on specific currencies.
  • Forex Forum: The DailyFX.com Forum is a serious online forum that avoids the “market noise” and irrelevant personal commentary that plague many forex blogs and forums. DailyFX continues to keep the DailyFX.com Forum the place where real traders go to talk about serious trading.
  • Free Forex Charts: free forex charts for beginning, intermediate, and expert traders, complete with live currency quotes
  • Live Forex Rates: live currency rates around the clock.
  • Economic Countdown: watch the clock tick down to enter the market and actively trade in fast-moving market conditions. When the countdown reaches zero, the economic announcement will be published on DailyFX.com. Within minutes, DailyFX.com Analysts will release an in-depth examination of the event and how it may affect the currency market.
